After systematically and carefully researching memory care for my mother and personally visiting and re-visiting seven possible facilities, it was clear that Battle Creek was the top choice. In terms of services provided, staff responsiveness, cleanliness, accessibility to management personnel when needed, etc., all get 5 Gold Stars. My only concern has been some absence of reception staff on the weekends to open the door for visitors. While a phone number is made available for visitors to call on the weekends, and staff have been responsive, when a receptionist is on site, it does greatly facilitate visitor access with less trouble.

It is such a relief to know that my mom is safe and well cared for. We just couldn’t care for her at home anymore and it was a Godsend to find Battle Creek. They have a caring and committed staff that engage with residents. They have good meals and wonderful activities. Everything is clean and feels like home. Memory care is not always an easy thing to facilitate and they do it well.

The staff are very attentive and nice and very cordial. My wife is receiving great care and they contact me with any information when needed. They are very efficient and friendly and competent. They do a lot for the residents in terms of activities. There is just a lot of good things going on. They have activities like bingo, painting pots, jigsaw puzzle and a live musician that came in.

I have a couple of family friends who live there. The building is always kept very clean with oldies music playing in the background. I'm always surprised to find so many people working. I hear about places being low on employees but this place doesn't seem to have any issues with that. The employees seem really genuine and I usually walk in finding them actively helping the people who live there. I've spoken with the head manager there on several occasions. He is very friendly and has a lot of knowledge on how to care for my friend's particular type of dementia. I see a lot of fun things that the tenants do for activity in the big open area of the building. The place just has a good feel to it. I would highly recommend it to anyone else looking to find a home for their loved one.

It was An Easy, Informative, and Compassionate Decision. The staff have been receptive to concerns and questions. They know my love one by name. There are a lot of activities. Some of the activities that are available are walks around the garden, country drives, bat the ball, chair aerobics, root beer floats, movie nights, and more.

My Mom has been at Battlecreek since November 2020. I have found the staff to be very attentive to my Moms needs. They seem to genuinely care about their residents. My Mom is doing well. The facility is beautiful. Always clean.. Never smells bad. My Mom is safe and well cared for. I appreciate that very much.

Our experience at this community was incredible, we can only give them the most highest remarks. They were incredibly loving, there were nurses and CNA's available at all times. They were always in our loved ones room, and they did anything and everything we needed especially during the covid outbreak. When our loved one had to go onto hospice care, they assigned her to a room where i could come visit and sit with her. They were so careful about not bringing covid into the community, there was just so much love and care. I encourage everyone to go to this community.

I would tell others that the layout of the "neighborhoods" is an ideal arrangement for memory care residents. They have groups of about 20 residents that have common spaces. It facilitates intimacy, good staff control and observation, and allows a socialization that I think does not exist in other apartment like facilities. They have spaces that allow 2 residents to be together in a same room, so for a husband and wife it is like a mini apartment. From a health care standpoint they have excellent nursing and staff care who are very engaged in the residents and their well being.
